In what can be termed as breaking news in media parlance Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise has announced that they have removed Australian left handed opening batsman David Warner from captaincy for the rest of the season and his baton is being handed over to Kiwi National team captain Kane Williamson.

Kane Williamson will take over the captaincy from David Warner from tomorrow's game vs Rajasthan Royals in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL2021, Indian T-20 League). He will carry the responsibility of being the franchise captain for the rest of the 14 th season of IPL.

Many believed this was on the expected lines as difference of opinion was building between David Warner and team management over the selection of some players in the playing XI. David expressed his dissatisfaction over the dropping of Manish Pandey from the team few days back as Manish came in in the very next match and played a wonderful innings of 61 runs. Franchise expressed their gratitude towards David for his long service to team and hoped that they will be getting the same from him in near future on and off the field.
