Subhabrata Mukherjee : On Thursday at Wankhede Stadium in Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) Rajasthan Royals (RR) beats Delhi Capitals (DC) by 3 wickets. Most ‘expensive’ cricketer in the IPL history Chris Morris came good today with the bat in hand as he took his side to a thrilling win. Incidentally Rajasthan in their very first match came close to victory only to lose by 4 runs as Sanju Samson failed to hit the ball for six.

At Wankhede Delhi batted first on Thursday. Rajasthan bowlers bowled a tight line and length as Delhi batsmen unable to break free. They lost their first four batsmen cheaply. Prithvi scored 2,Dhawan 9,Stoinis scored a duck and Rahane 8 as they looked down the barrel . Young, dynamic captain Pant again came to his side’s rescue as he scored 51 runs from 32 balls. He got support from Lalit Yadav (20),Tom Curran (21) and Chris Woakes (15). Delhi batsmen failed to hit a single six in their innings as they were able to score only 147 runs for the loss of 8 wickets.

Chasing 148 runs to win Rajasthan started badly as they lost Buttler (2), Vohra(9),Sanju(4) and Dube(2) early. Proteas batsman David Miller played a blinder as he scored 62 runs from just 43 balls. Leftover job was finished by a cameo from Morris as he remained not out on 36 from 18 balls to give Rajasthan their first win of the season.
