Depth of Hyderabad batting again exposed in the absence of their talismanic batsman Kane Williamson who is still nursing his injury.

On a slow pitch in Chennai’ MA Chidambaram stadium today Rohit Sharma and his men batted first. Captain Rohit, partnered by proteas wicketkeeper batsman Quinton De Kock gave a solid start to Mumbai Indians today. Mumbai scored 55 runs before they lost their first wicket Rohit Sharma for 32 runs scored of just 25 balls. Enroute he set the record for being the first captain to score 4000 runs in T-20. Quinton got out for 40 runs as mumbai sufferred a mini collapse in their innings. Innings was rescued by big hitting Caribbean all rounder Kieron Pollard who scored 35 not out from just 22 runs to take Mumbai’s total to 150 for loss of 5 wickets from their alloted quata of 20 overs. For Hyderabad Mujeeb and Shankar bagged two wickets each.

Chasing 151 runs to win Hyderabad started off in flying fashion. They today promoted English Wicket keeper batsman Jonny Bairstow up the order. The right hander started off in destructive mode as hit Mumbai Bowlers to every part of the ground. The scoreboard moved on very first. Hyderabad scored their 50 runs from just 5 overs. After Playing a blinder of an innings Bairstow got out hit wicket after scoring quickfire 43 runs from 22 balls. Captain Warner was ince again carrying his side on his shoulder before he was run out for 37 off 34 balls. From there on Hyderabad was only chasing the match. One after another batsman failed.
