Xtratime Web Desk : Corona effected the Indian domestic circuit badly in the year 2020. Due to the outbreak of the pandemic Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was not able to stage Ranji trophy for the first time in tournament history. But today BCCI gave huge relief to those domestic cricketers who earns their bread and butter from Indian domestic cricket circuit. At the end of this year Ranji trophy will be making a comeback to 22 yards that is a confirm news now.

But beside the good news there is also some not so good news. As No Irani or Duleep Trophy will be hosted by BCCI this year. BCCI plans to start its 2021-22 domestic season in September this year with Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament and has also allocated a three-month window to the Ranji Trophy from December.

But prestigious Duleep Trophy, Deodhar Trophy and Irani Cup are not a part of the BCCI tentative calendar. This calender was prepared by the cricket operations team BCCI. Apart from this, five women’s competitions have also been dropped from this year’s roster.

BCCI is hopeful of conducting the domestic season across age-groups in men and women’s categories after a curtailed last season.
Incidentally Ranji Trophy, India’s premier tournament was cancelled for the first time in 87 years in the year 2020, has been planned between December and March in the upcoming season.
