IPL 2021: Kolkata get back to winning ways vs Punjab, Morgan and bowlers lift team

On Monday night Kolkata knight Riders finally came back to winning ways in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL,Indian T-20 League) vs Punjab Kings. Playing on the surface of newly constructed Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad Kolkata bowlers lifted their game as they along with captain Morgan with the bat ensured a five wicket win for the side.
Punjab Kings batted first in this match . They started off slowly. They lost their first wicket as captain Rahul tried to lift the run rate. He perished for 19. Soon followed by Gayle (0) and Deepak Hooda (1). Pooran (19) and Mayank (31) tried to put some impetus into the innings but failed. It was Chris Jordan's quickfire 30 from 18 balls that put Punjab past 120 as they posted 123/9. KKR bowlers did a fine job. Prasidh krishan took three wickets and Narine and Cummins cheaped in with two wickets each.
In pursuit of 124 runs to win Kolkata started off in a poor manner. As they lost 3 wickets for just 17 runs. Gill (9),Rana (0) and Narine (0) all went back to pavillion quite cheaply. Rahul Tripathi along with captain Morgan started the recovery by counter attacking the Punjab attack. Tripathi fell for 41 runs from 32 balls. Soon after his dismissal Andre Russell went to pavillion cheaply for just 10 runs after being run out caused by miscommunication between him and Morgan. Morgan (47*) stayed till the end and along with Karthik he ensured 5 wicket win for Kolkata with 20 balls to spare.
