Xtra Time Web Desk: Australian cricketers playing in the Indian Premier League this year (IPL 2021) could face trouble in returning to their home country, with the possibility of being left stranded also being very real. This comes after reports from local Australian media came out saying that the country’s federal government was in line to impose hefty fine and jail term for those returning from India.

The Australian Government has banned all flights coming from India due to the resurgence of COVID-19 in the form of a second wave in the country, which has left Australian cricketers playing in the country worried about returning home. The following was said in Australia’s Sydney Morning Herald: “The federal government is considering fining and jailing anyone who tries to enter Australia from India amid that country’s Covid-19 crisis.” There are currently 14 Australians playing in the IPL, including top players like Pat Cummins, Steve Smith and David Warner.
