IPL 2021: Former Rajasthan Royals Co-Owner Raj Kundra arrested in connection of making porn films

Xtra Time Web Desk: Former co-owner of Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Rajasthan Royals, Raj Kundra was arrested by Mumbai Crime Branch on Tuesday for his alleged connection with making porn films. Raj Kundar was associated with a pornography racket busted in February this year. Kundra, who is also the husband of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty had 11.7% stake in Rajasthan Royals but was banned from owning the team in 2015 because of allegations of betting in IPL matches.
According to Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale, “There was a case registered with the Crime Branch in February about the creation and publishing of pornographic films through apps. We have arrested Raj Kundra in this case as he appears to be the key conspirator. Further investigation is in progress.”
According to crime branch, after shooting the porn films, the accused used to send them to a foreign-based company through a popular file sharing service and the same was uploaded on various apps to evade the Indian law enforcing agencies.
Raj Kundra has been booked under sections 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention), 292 and 293 (related to obscene and indecent advertisements and displays) of IPC besides relevant sections of the IT act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.
