Xtra Time Web Desk: Kolkata Knight Rider’s (KKR) young batting sensation Shubman Gill on Monday celebrated his 21st birthday with teammates at the Ritz Carlton hotel in Abu Dhabi. The entire team came together to enjoy the cake cutting ceremony. KKR captain Dinesh Karthik wished Gill on his birthday and hoped the talented youngster can bring a lot of smiles to everyone in these tough times with his batting.
“My favourite guy in this team is Shubman Gill. I guess he has turned 23, 22 , 21 (laughs). He is probably the most talented batsman going round in world cricket at the moment.”
The KKR captain added, “I wish him all the best and most importantly have a superb year ahead. In these tough times I hope you bring a lot of smiles to everybody, not only the KKR family but to your dad specially. Good luck and wish you a very happy birthday.”
The talented batsman has been performing impressively with the bat over the last couple of years. And his efforts have borne fruit and brought him in the limelight. The Knight Riders camp will be hoping to see a scintillating season from the stylish batsman.
Kolkata Knight Riders will kick start their IPL 2020 campaign against Mumbai Indians on September 23.
