Xtra Time Web Desk: Fast bowler Trent Boult should be back for the IPL 2020 final, said Mumbai Indians’ captain Rohit Sharma on Thursday. The Blackcaps fast bowler had an injury scare in the Qualifier 1 against Delhi Capitals at the Dubai International Stadium. Boult was instrumental in helping MI cruise into the finals, where he demolished the top order of Delhi’s batting lineup by scraping 2 wickets in the first over itself.

“I’ve not seen him (Boult). But he seems okay. I don’t think it’s a big problem. Three-day rest and he should be back on the park. Bumrah and Boult have been in solid form. They play for different teams so they have different plans. We as a team have different plans and it’s great to see them execute those,” said Rohit during the post match presentation.

Boult had to walk off the ground due to a sudden groin strain. He bowled 2 over giving just 9 runs. In the first over of Delhi’s innings, he took the wicket of Prithvi Shaw and Ajinkya Rahane in a classic swing bowling session.

After those early blows, Delhi could only manage 143 loosing 8 wickets in their 20 overs chasing 200. Jasprit Bumrah also took 4 wickets and helped Mumbai defeat Delhi Capitals by 57 runs and securing a place in the IPL final.

“Our bowling has been terrific through the tournament; they have put pressure on the opposition right from the beginning. It was good to see the overall performance of the team, the way we played today was absolutely perfect,” the skipper said praising the team’s performance.

The IPL final will be played on November 10 and this is the 6th IPL final Mumbai Indians will take part in.
