India U19 cricket team captain Priyam Garg has been under lime lights since the beginning of the IPL 2020. The young lad didn’t get much chance so far in the ongoing cash rich league but against Chennai Super Kings on Friday, Garg got the much needed opportunity and he capitalized it fully by scoring his maiden half-century against a top bowling line-up like CSK. Thanks to him and Abhishek, SRH posted a respective total of 164 runs against CSK.

When SRH was struggling at 69/4 after losing back to back wickets of David Warner and Kane Williamson, Garg stitched a brilliant partnership of 77 runs for the 6th wicket with Abhishek Sharma. Garg remained not out on 51 runs from just 21 deliveries and Abhishek Sharma scored an useful 31 runs from 24 deliveries. In his knock, Garg hit six bounderies and one huge six.

During the innings break Abhishek Sharma revealed the game plan of him and Garg against CSK while bowling.” Initially we were looking to play our game and whatever is coming in our zone, we were trying to hit into the gaps. We (Garg and I) have been practising throughout the camp and it came off today,” said Abhishek.

Abhishek also thanked the coaches and the captains for no putting any pressure on the youngsters which have helped them to play well.”It’s all about our team game and the coaches and captain gave us clear roles and there’s no pressure and it is all about playing our natural game,” added Abhishek.

The young lad also feels that, SRH has a good total on the board against the three-time champions.”The wicket is not skiddy and it’s stopping in between, we were initially looking for around 150 and I think it is a good total for us,” concluded Abhishek.
