IPL 2020: Injury concern for SRH star pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar

XtraTime Web Desk: Bad news for Sunrisers Hyderabad as their star pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has sustained an injury during an Indian Premier League game against Chennai Super Kings on Friday. He was seen in so much pain that the swing maestro didn’t complete the 19th over of the second innings. Bhuvi was bowling his final over of the game and pulled up just before bowling the second ball to CSK skipper MS Dhoni. He tried to stretch his leg and returned to his bowling mark before aborting his run-up once more.

SRH team physio Evan Speechly rushed in the middle and did a strapping on Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s leg. But it didn’t work out as he pulled up for a third time on his run-up and indicated he was no longer able to bowl the final five balls and limped off the field. Left arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed completed the remaining over and Abdul Samad defended 28 in the final over as SRH completed a 7-run win over CSK.

This is the latest in a spate of injuries for the 30-year-old Bhuvneshwar. In December last year, he was diagnosed with a sports hernia post the T20I series against West Indies. Before that, Bhuvneshwar has had to make frequent trips to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru since a back injury flared up during IPL 2018.
