IPL 2020: Sreesanth wants to see this change in Kolkata Knight Riders for upcoming matches

XtraTime Web Desk: India pacer Santhakumaran Sreesanth has called for a change of guard in Kolkata Knight Riders. The fast bowler from Kerala wants to see World Cup winning England captain Eoin Morgan being handed the reins of captaincy from Dinesh Karthik by the KKR management.

Sreesanth’s made this statement following KKR’s 18 run loss against Delhi Capitals in Match No 16 of the IPL 2020 at the Sharjah Stadium on Saturday.
Chasing a record total of 229 runs to win, the Knight Riders fell short by 18 runs. The KKR captain looked woefully out of form as he was snapped up by Harshal Patel for 6 runs. Karthik has so far scored a total 37 runs from the 4 matches. When Morgan came into bat at number six, KKR still needed 112 runs for win from 43 balls. He and Tripathi took the attack to the Delhi Capitals bowlers as they piled 78-run stand to revive KKR’s hopes of winning the match.

Morgan was dismissed for 44 in the penultimate over by Anrich Nortje, but Tripathi was still there for KKR in the final over as the side needed 26 runs for the win. However, in the last over, Marcus Stoinis clean-bowled Tripathi (36) to hand Delhi an 18-run win.

Sreesanth shared the emotions of the netizens and felt the England white ball captain should be made the captain of the Knight Riders. He tweeted, “Genuinely feel @Eoin16 should lead the side, surely not DK, World Cup-winning captain should surely lead ipl side. I hope #kkr looks at this issue and they need a leader who will lead from front like Rohit, Dhoni or Virat, what a player.”
