IPL 2020: Rohit Sharma talks with KKR’s Kuldeep & Abhishek from a safe distance

XtraTime Web Desk: All eight Indian Premier League teams are keeping themselves ready for the IPL 2020, which is scheduled to begin from September 19.

Due to the rising cases of deadly COVID-19 pandemic, masks and social distancing hev become the new normal these days. The players who are participating in the cash rich league are no different and are following the strict protocols in the bio-secure bubbles at the UAE.

In a display of social distancing protocols being followed, Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma caught up with Kolkata Knight Riders spinner Kuldeep Yadav and assistant coach Abhishek Nayar during a net session in Abu Dhabi.

The players were seen interacting with each other at ease but from a safe distance, separated by barricades.

Rohit was heard reminding the others about social distancing, telling Abhishek “iske aage matt aana” (do not come ahead of this) before their conversation began.

Defending champions Mumbai Indians and two-time IPL winners KKR are in Abu Dhabi, which is their home base as well.

MI are scheduled to take on Chennai Super Kings in the season opener on September 19, while KKR play their first match of the season against the defending champions on September 23.

The IPL this year will be played at three venues — Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi, in the UAE.
