IPL 2020: Rohit and Boult’s brilliance gives Mumbai Indians their fifth IPL title

XtraTime Web Desk – The 2020 Indian Premier League came to an end on Tuesday as Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Capitals by 5 wickets to clinch their 5th IPL title.

Captain Shreyas Iyer decided to bat first but Delhi Capitals had a nightmare in the powerplay. They lost Marcus Stoinis in the first ball itself and lost Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane early. Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant controlled the match from then as both the players had an important partnership of 96 runs for 4th wicket partnership. Pant scored 56 of 38 balls while Shreyas scored 65 of 50 balls. With their important partnership, Capitals scored 156 after 20 overs. Trent Boult took 3 wickets in his 4 overs and gave 30 runs.

156 is never enough against a destructive side like Mumbai Indians. Captain Rohit Sharma led from front and scored 68 of 51 balls and set the stage for Mumbai Indians. Ishan Kishan contributed 33 runs of 19 balls and sealed the deal for Mumbai Indians. With this dominating performance, Mumbai Indians won their 5th IPL title.
