IPL 2020: Rahul Tewatia looses cool at Khaleel Ahmed during tensed moments of run chase

Rahul Tewatia involved in a heated exchange with Khaleel Ahmed during the IPL 2020 match between RR & SRH.

Xtra Time Web Desk: Rahul Tewatia once again turned out to be the savior for Steve Smith as his knock helped Rajsthan Royals successfully chase the run set by Sunrisers Hyderabad, winning the match by 5 wickets. Tewatia scored an unbeaten 45 off 28 balls that included 4 hits to the fence and two sixes. He was involved in a brilliant partnership of 85 runs with Riyan Parag (42 off 26) as they helped RR chased down a 159-run target in a tight chase.

However, during the tensed final over, where SRH needed to defend 8 runs, Khaleel Ahmed and Tewatia were involved in heated exchanges, pointing finger at each other. But moments after the win, Tewatia hadn’t cooled down and angry words were exchanged between him and Khaleel once again. Sunrisers Hyderabad Captain David Warner tried to calm down Tewatia and even the umpires intervened. As things looked like going out of control, Khaleel Ahmed put his hand around Tewatia’s shoulder and both sorted out the issue and walked off the ground.

Earlier batting first Sunrisers Hyderabad put 158/4 thanks to Manish Pandey’s 54 and Captain Warner’s 48 runs. In reply, Khaleel Ahmed removed openers, Buttler and Stokes, in quick succession, while Smith got run out. Though Samson and Uthappa tried to rebuild the innings, it looked all over for RR at 78/5 in 12 overs. But Rahul Tewatia and Riyan Parag had other ideas as they took their team home with one ball to spare.
