Former Indian captain and Coach Rahul Dravid have played a big role in honing their skills as a batsman.

Mayank Agarwal

Mayank Agarwal has come a long way since making his test debut against Australia in Melbourne in 2018. The talented Karnataka batsman has been a revelation at the top order, carrying forward the batting of Kings XI Punjab along with KL Rahul. Mayank had his technique sorted out by Rahul Dravid and results are showing in his batting.

Sanju Samson

Sanju Samson needs to credit Rahul Dravid for his rise in stature as a batsman and the youngster from Kerala has time and again admitted that it was his stints with ‘The Wall’ that have helped him develop his game. He played alongside Dravid in Rajasthan Royals and it was the former India captain who took him to Delhi Daredevils when he was the coach. Some of the strokes that he has taken are just copybook like his role model.

Prithvi Shaw

Delhi Capital’s Prithvi Shaw is another young batsman who had a huge influence of Rahul Dravid in his career so far. It was during his stint in the India U19 team as captain that Prithvi got up close with Rahul Dravid as he was the coach then. Shaw always had the talent to be a great batsman in the mould of Sachin Tendulkar, but his stint with Dravid has only made him a better batsman as far as technique and temperament is concerned.

Kolkata Knight Rider’s Shubman Gill is another young batman who is indebted to Rahul Dravid as the former India cricketer worked closely with him during his stint as the coach of the India U19 team. Gill, who is already taking giant strides in international cricket, will look to have a great show in the IPL 2020.
