Xtra Time Web Desk: Former Australia spin legend Shane Keith Warne has come forward with a few suggestions so as to make the battle between bat and ball a more even contest in T20 cricket. Warne, who is also a mentor and ambassador for Rajasthan Royals, shared his frustration at one sided contests, heavily stacked in favour of the batsmen. Warne, who is now in UAE had suggested ways to restore parity in the contest between bat and ball.

The former RR skipper, who took his team to their only IPL title till date back in the inaugural season in 2008, decried over the number of maximums hit by batsmen in the tournament across venues in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.

The modern batsmen specially the power hitters are making a mockery of any stiff targets, Warne suggested ways so as to give the bowlers some respite. The former Australian cricketer wants to see bigger boundaries and on smaller grounds he wants to see more grass left on the outfield so as to make it more sluggish for the ball to travel to the boundary. He also wants to see the bowlers getting a maximum 5 overs and not four as is current rule prescribes. He wants to see a Day 4 type pitch and not a flat deck where runs can be scored freely.

Warne took to his twitter in sharing his suggestions so as to improve the contest between the bat and ball. Warne tweeted, "I would improve T/20 cricket by 1 Boundaries as big as poss at each venue & on small grounds keep grass on the outfield long 2 Bowlers a max of 5 overs not four 3 Pitch must = day 4 test match pitch & not be a flat rd As we all want a contest between bat & ball not just 6’s."
