Xtra Time Web Desk: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) needed an inspiring moment on the field against Delhi Capitals and it came from Nitish Rana. Sent in to open the batting with Shubman Gill, the Delhi batsman finally came good as he played a scintillating knock of 81 runs off 53 balls to see KKR post an daunting total of 194/6 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium.

As soon as Rana reached his half century he was seen flashing a KKR jersey with his late father in law’s name written on the back of it. Surinder Marwah, the father in law of Rana lost a battle to cancer and passed away on Friday. The moment he reached his 50, substitute Rinku Singh was seen rushing into the ground with the jersey. It was a nice gesture from Rana to show tribute to his late father in law.

There were a lot of talks about Rana not doing justice so far in the IPL 2020 with the bat but when it did matter he let his bat do the talking. It was due to the fourth wicket partnership of 115 runs between Sunil Narine (64 from 32) and Nitish Rana, Knight Riders managed to bounce back after being reduced to 42/3 after 7.2 overs. Narine too played a blinder as his 32 ball knock included six boundaries and 4 sixes.
