IPL 2020: MS Dhoni shares his ‘words of wisdom’ to KL Rahul & Mayank Agarwal

XtraTime Web Desk: Three-time Indian Premier League champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) returned back to their winning ways after they beat King XI Punjab in a one sided match by 10 wickets. MS Dhoni led side was languishing in the last spot of the points table ahead of the game and now they are above Sunrisers Hyderabad after an emphatic win over KL Rahul led side.

CSK skipper MS Dhoni and the team management had put their faith on their experienced opener Shane Watson and finally after three failures, Watson showed his class as he added 181 runs for the first wicket with Faf du Plessis to lead his side to a 10-wicket victory. While Watson remained unbeaten on 83 off 53, Du Plessis scored 87.

Dhoni, who was heavily criticised after the results did not go in his favour in the past three matches, was hailed for giving a long rope to seniors. Following the win, Dhoni hogged the limelight for imparting ‘words of wisdom’ to KXIP’s opening pair of KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal.

The Karnataka-born players have done wonders for their team but lack of contributions from others have let KXIP down. It is to be noted that Rahul is leading an IPL team for the first time in his career and Dhoni’s advice would surely help him grow as a leader.

Rahul has struggled as a captain in the ongoing season. With just one win from five matches, KXIP are reeling at the last spot in the points table. Their only win came against Royal Challengers Bangalore, where Virat Kohli dropped Rahul twice. The right-handed batsman went on to score another 48 off just 13 balls after the first drop.

Meanwhile, CSK will be in action on Wednesday as they take on against Kolkata Knight Riders. The Dinesh Karthik-led side is also in desperate need of a win. With two wins from four matches, KKR are sitting at the fourth spot on the points table.
