IPL 2020: KXIP’s Nicholas Pooran misses this milestone set by his teammate KL Rahul
Xtra Time Web Desk: Kings XI Punjab's Nicholas Pooran slammed the fastest fifty (17 balls) of IPL 2020 against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Dubai International Stadium on Thursday. The hard hitting West Indian batsman though failed to get past the all time record of the fastest fifty scored by his KXIP teammate and captain KL Rahul. Rahul achieved the milestone in the game against Delhi Capitals during IPL 2018. He smashed fifty off just 14 balls which included 4 sixes and 6 fours.
Pooran was in a destructive mood as he collected 28 off Abdul Samad's first over, hammering the spinner for four sixes and a four to reach the landmark. Chasing a stiff target of 202 runs to win, Kings XI lost in form openers Mayank Agarwal and Rahul cheaply. But that didn't deter Pooran, who had got stuck into Abhishek Sharma and T Natarajan earlier, slamming the duo for three sixes combined. He was eventually dismissed by Rashid Khan for a 37-ball 77.
