IPL 2020: Delhi Capitals management shares an emotional surprise video to its players ahead of MI game

Xtra Time Web Desk: Delhi Capitals management surprised the players with an emotional video ahead of the game against Mumbai Indians. The management shared a heartwarming video of the player’s families wishing them good luck in the bio bubble in UAE for the IPL 2020. The entire thing was well planned by the management and it took the players by surprise to watch their closed ones.

The players and support staffs were called in the team room to analyse where they went wrong in the tournament so far. Their CEO and co-owner Parth Jindal, in fact, began a presentation saying the franchise wasn’t happy with their performance. However the video starts with the three little kids of DC Coach Ricky Ponting wishing their father all the way from Australia.

The novel coronavirus pandemic has changed the way the sport is being played and watched. Families and close ones have not been allowed to travel to UAE because of the bio bubble.  The players have been spending time in their hotel rooms, having to adhere to health guidelines.

Head coach Ricky Ponting thanked the franchise for their effort and said it’s important to recognise the sacrifices players’ and support staff’s families have undergone to make sure they are in the UAE to feature at IPL 2020.

“You know this is an unusual tournament this time around, the fact that we’re away from home for three months and whatever we can do, I think to bring ourselves closer to home and just be reminded of the sacrifices that we make but also the sacrifices that our families make to allow us to be here,” said Ponting.
