XtraTime Web Desk: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batsman AB de Villiers on Monday reached a rare milestone of completing 4500 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020). The Proteas batsman, considered one of the most explosive batsmen in world cricket completed 4500 runs during his unbeaten 55 off 24 balls against Mumbai Indians at the Dubai International Stadium. De Villiers was particularly harsh on Jasprit Bumrah, as he took 18 runs off him in the 17th over, including two sixes and a four.

De Villiers became the second overseas batsman and sixth overall to complete 4500 runs in the cash rich league. He has now joined an elite list headed by his RCB teammate Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan. Sunrisers Hyderabad Captain David Warner is the only other overseas cricketer in that elite list.

The former Proteas cricketer who retired from international cricket in 2018 has so far scored 4529 (including this match) from 157 matches at an average of 40.43. He has also scored three hundreds and 33 fifties in the IPL. The South African cricketer has the best strike rate amongst the top six batsmen in IPL with 152.08.

Virat Kohli leads the table with 5430 runs from 180 matches followed by Suresh Raina (5368 runs from 193 matches), Rohit Sharma (4998 runs from 191 matches), David Warner (4748 runs from 128 matches), and Shikhar Dhawan (4614 runs from 161 matches).
