IPL 2019: What prompted Sunil Narine to concentrate on his batting?

Xtra Time Web Desk: Kolkata Knight Rider’s spinner Sunil Narine on Friday revealed that he is living his father’s dream as he always wanted him to be a batsman. Narine has been a regular opener in the different T20 leagues around the globe. In a chat with Kevin Pietersen, Narine said, “When my dad passed away I told myself I am going to give it a shot because he always wanted me to be a batsman. At the MCG Day they gave me the opportunity and from there he sky rocketed”.

Narine opened the batting with the current Australian ODI captain Aaron Finch for Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash League a couple of years back. He surprised everyone with his quick fire 21 off only 13 deliveries.

On being asked about the Indian Premier League, the Trinidadian bowler said, “It’s the best T20 tournament so you come out here and dominate or give a good performance. It sets high standards about yourself and it’s something you enjoy.”

The Kolkata Knight Riders spinner is confident that his team will bounce back after three successive lose in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2019)
