IPL 2019: Rajasthan Royals’ Jos Buttler takes inspiration from this individual

XtraTime Web Desk Rajastahn Royals English opener Jos Buttler has found a new source of inspiration from acclaimed Australian surfer Mark Mathews.

The England batsman along with other RR cricketers were part of an interactive session with the renowned surfer ahead of their Indian Premier League clash against Chennai Super Kings at Jaipur. Mathews, a good friend of Rajasthan Coach Paddy Upton flew in to Jaipur to share his experiences.

“I think he’s a good friend of Paddy (Paddy Upton), big wave surfer. It’s always great to listen to successful individuals from other works of life, other professional sport. Talking about the intricacies about big wave surfing, some of the pressures he has to deal with,” said Buttler ahead of Thursday’s clash with CSK.

Mathews also made a presentation titled ‘Life Beyond Fear,’ showcasing an array of exhilarating videos featuring his surfing escapades along with his team around the world.

According to Buttler, “He was sharing his experiences about dealing with fear, sort of the mental side you find yourself in cricket. I think it would work for some guys and might not be applicable to some. It is always nice when you get to meet such people and see if it anything that you can learn.”
