XtraTime Web Desk: There are few cricketing brains as sharp as Chennai Super Kings Captain MS Dhoni. The two time World Cup winning captain once again proved his class behind the wicket, this time though with his street smart judgment to take Decision Review System during the Indian Premier League (IPL 2019) match against Rajasthan Royals.
The Royals openers Ajinkya Rahane and Jos Buttler were off to a brisk start, scoring almost 10 runs an over. It was the fifth delivery of the third over bowled by Chennai’s Deepak Chahar. The ball crashed on to the pads as the Rajasthan Royals captain tried to flick the ball towards the fine leg boundary. Both Dhoni and Chahar went up, claiming a Leg Before decision in their favour. But the soft signal by on field umpire Bruce Oxenford was ‘Not Out’.
The Captain Cool was seen having a word with Chahar whether to take the Review as the clock ticked by. The medium pacer was successful in convincing his captain to take the Review. The CSK captain ultimately decided to take the Review just in nick of time which eventually proved right, as the TV replays showed the ball pitching in line and crashing the leg stump.
