Xtra Time Web Desk: Kings XI Punjab opener KL Rahul should consider himself extremely fortunate during the Indian Premier League (IPL 2019) clash against Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk on Saturday. Rahul survived a run-out scare even after the ball hit the stumps.

The bizarre incident happened in the fourth ball of the 13th over of Punjab innings, bowled by Ravindra Jadeja. Rahul went for a paddle sweep but the ball didn’t go anywhere. Dhoni picked up the ball and back flicked the stumps. Surprising everyone, the bails rises and lit up but goes back in their grooves again.

Rahul was short of his ground despite putting in a valiant dive. The batsman scampered on the overthrow. It was a remarkable stroke of luck for the Indian cricketer.

Rahul ended up scoring 55 runs off 47 balls that included 3 fours and a six. New Zealander Scott Kuggeleijn, making his IPL debut for the Yellow Army had him caught by Ravindra Jadeja.
Super Kings eventually won the match by 22 runs in the end. MS Dhoni and his team climbs back to the top of the points table courtesy the win tonight.
