IPL 2019: Jofra Archer grateful to RR management as he leaves for England duty

XtraTime Web Desk: Rajasthan Royals bowling all-rounder Jofra Archer is having a dream run. The Royals got home in the Indian Premier League clash against KKR, thanks to the cameo (27 off 12 balls) played by Archer. His knock was studded with two fours and sixes. Requiring 9 runs off the final over, Archer top edged the first ball from Prasidh Krishna for a boundary over short third man. He hit the next ball for a six to take his team home with four balls to spare.

Talking about the last over, Archer said, “Just get bat on ball.”

On being asked about his experience playing the cash rich league for the first time, a shy looking Archer said, “I feel really excited now at the same time gutted as I have to leave the boys. But moments like this really make me cherish playing for Rajasthan.”

Archer sounded confidence that whoever replaces him and Stokes will do well in the matches ahead.
“We’ve got a great bunch of boys and anyone that comes and replace me will do a great job and I am pretty sure about that,” said Archer at the end of the match.

Lastly, he was humble enough to share his gratitude towards the franchise for giving him the opportunity.

“I am really grateful to Rajastahn Royals management for giving me an opportunity. They took a huge gamble by taking me who haven’t played any international cricket. The management took a really big risk having me as opposed to someone who has played 50 or 60 international games.”

The Barbados born English cricketer will leave Kolkata for England along with his compatriot Ben Stokes in the wee hours on Friday.
