On Tuesday’s top of the table clash with Kolkata Knight Riders, the veteran leg spinner took his celebrations to another level.
After taking Karthik’s wickets, Tahir went towards a section of the crowd and celebrated with the ‘whistle podu’ gesture, much to the liking of the Yellow Army.
The Proteas leg spinner has grabbed the eyeballs of fans with his unique celebration after taking every wicket. Each time Tahir has taken a wicket in the ongoing IPL, he has his arms spread wide with a smile on his face. The very next moment the 40 year old sprints to the other end of the ground, getting the fans on its feet.
The South African was at his best on Tuesday at Chepauk as he had the KKR batsmen flummoxed with his spin. Tahir’s dismissals included the KKR captain Dinesh Karthik and Shubman Gill, both of whom looked clueless.
