IPL 2019: Imran Tahir still young and going at the age of 40. What’s your view?

Kolkata: 40 years young Imran Tahir bowls his career best figure in IPL today as he took 4 wickets against Kolkata Knight Riders by giving just 27 runs which forced the home side to stop at 161 for 8 at the Eden Gardens. Lynn was the top scorer for KKR as he scored 82 runs in just 51 deliveries, but he would definitely be disappointed with the score which was posted by his side. Lynn’s eighth IPL fifty seemed to have put KKR on course for at least a 180- plus total, but Tahir’s blows left them gasping for air as they managed to score just one boundary in the final five overs.

Tahir took the wickets of Chris Lynn, Nitish Rana, Robin Uthappa and the dangerous Andre Russell to stop the men in purple. At one stage KKR were on 122 for 3 in 14 overs but it was Tahir who back to back sent Lynn and Russell to the pavilion in the 15th over to stop the run flow of the home side. Tahir’s earlier best spell came in 2015 IPL when he took 4 wickets for 28 runs against Rajasthan Royals for Delhi Daredevils.

Later after winning the game by 5 wickets against the Knight Riders Tahir gave most of the credit to his captain MS Dhoni for this performance.”I just bowled how my captain wanted me to bowl and I always get benefit taking advice from him. He is a legend and is helping me always so all the credit goes to him and obviously myself because few things which I don’t think personally and he comes and tell me like what I need to bowl and in which area. So being working with him and CSK is an honour and I want to play this good cricket in the rest of the tournament,” said Tahir.
