IPL 2019: Big injury scare for Andre Russell. Will he be able to play in next matches?

Sabyasachi Bagchi: Huge blow for two time Indian Premier League champions Kolkata Knight Riders as their star Windies all-rounder Andre Russell may miss a few matches in the rest of the season after getting a hit on his neck during KKR’s practice session at the Eden Gardens ahead of Royal Challengers Bangalore game. A bouncer from a net bowler named Minad Manjrekar hit Russell’s neck and immediately the Windies maestro fell on the ground with severe pain.

The physio and others from the team management rushed at the spot to look at the matter. He was almost down for 10 minutes at the crease and later left the ground for further treatment. After the incident KKR skipper talked with Minad to know further about the injury. Russell has already sustained an injury on his left wrist earlier in the tournament and now with this new neck injury his further participation in the cash rich league is in serious doubts. After KKR’s practice session he was taken to a local hospital for further assessment as the management wants to know what his the current situation of their power hitter.
