IPL 2019: Alzarri Joseph doesn’t celebrate wickets. Find out why?

XtraTime Web Desk: Alzarri Joseph doesn’t talk much but in place of that he lets his destructive bowling all the talking for him whenever he gets a chance to bowl. He did just that against SunRisers Hyderabad as he finished his spell with the best bowling figure in Indian Premier League history last night.

Mumbai Indians had to defend a average total of 136 runs against SRH at Hyderabad and with Joseph’s top spell he finished the home side were all out on 96 runs. His figures of 6 for 12 in 3.4 overs is the best-ever by a bowler in the league’s 12-year history.

Pakistan’s Sohail Tanvir (6 for 14) had held the record for 11 years but it was shattered by Joseph, who ran through the famed Sunrisers batting lineup to hand Mumbai its third win of the season.

“It’s a dream start, I don’t think it can get any better than this. I just wanted to stick to my plans,” Joseph told Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma in a chat after the game on iplt20.com. He took the all important wicket of David Warner with his first delivery in IPL in the fifth over and later removed Vijay Shankar, Deepak Hooda, Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Siddharth Kaul to win the game for the visitors.

When asked about his wicket celebration, or the lack of it, by Rohit he said, “I don’t really celebrate wickets, I celebrate wins. My aim isn’t just to get wickets but it’s to get wins for my team.”

Rohit asked Joseph about his plans for the Universe Boss and how he plans to get him out. “Just bowl fast,” was Joseph’s answer.
