XtraTime Web Desk: Good news for the cricket fans in Kolkata as Eden Gardens is likely host two Indian Premier League Playoff matches, a BCCI official said. As per IPL’s original schedule it is Pune who has the rights to host an Eliminator and Qualifier 2 on May 23 and 25 respectively. But as per sources both the matches are most likely to be shifted to Kolkata.

Pune is already hosting the home matches of Chennai Super Kings which moved out of Chennai due to ongoing protest against the Centre’s negligence for the formation of Cauvery Management Board (CMB). As per the BCCI official the City of Joy has been picked as the new place for the two big Playoff matches. Eden has the capacity of more than 66,000 which is the biggest stadium in the country as per seating capacity which is another reason for the change of venue. The Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune can only accommodate a bit more than 37,000. Final & Qualifier 1 to be held in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium as scheduled on May 22 & 27.
