IPL 2018: Daredevils beat defending champions MI in a thriller, restrict them from reaching playoffs

XtraTime Web Desk: Defending champions Mumbai Indians are out of contention of reaching the playoffs of the Indian Premier League as they lost to the hosts Delhi Daredevils by 11 runs in a must win game at the Feroz Shah Kotla today.

Batting first Delhi reached 174 for the loss of 4 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Young wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant (64) and all rounder Vijay Shankar (43) were the star for their side on a pitch which was tough to bat on. In reply, Mumbai Indians could only manage to score 163 runs before getting all out in the final over. Opener Evin Lewis (48) was the top scorer for the visitors. In the end Ben Cutting (37) tried his best to take his side over the line but failed to absorb the pressure and got out on the final over. With that all the hopes of MI reaching the playoffs ended as well.
