Immediate medical attention was required, with physios rushing onto the pitch and players forming a protective wall around Varga in the six-yard area. The medical team placed a cloth around him as they worked to stabilize his condition. After a lengthy delay, Varga was stretchered off the field. Despite a thorough VAR review, no penalty was awarded to Hungary.

Following the match, the Hungarian Football Federation (MLSZ) provided an update on Varga's condition, stating, "The condition of Barnabas Varga is stable. The Hungarian national team player is currently in one of the hospitals in Stuttgart. We will inform you immediately if there is any news on his status."
