Xtra Time Web Desk: India captain Rohit Sharma acknowledged that the T20 World Cup's Super 8 stage will be "a little hectic" but emphasized that his team is prepared for the challenges ahead. With a packed schedule, the Indian players are eager to make their mark and showcase their skills in this crucial phase of the tournament.

In a video uploaded by the BCCI, Sharma noted, "Once we play our first game, we are going to play the next two in a span of 3 or 4 days. It is going to be a little hectic but we are used to all of this. We travel and play a lot so that is never going to be an excuse."

 

The 37-year-old captain highlighted the team's determination, saying, "There is real keenness in the group to go and do something special. That's a good way to start the second stage. It clearly shows that everyone wants to make a difference and we take our skill sessions quite seriously."

Reflecting on the team's journey, Rohit acknowledged the challenges faced during the US leg of the tournament due to the drop-in pitches used by the organizers. However, he expressed confidence in the team's ability to adapt and perform in the Caribbean leg, which brings a sense of familiarity. 

"We have seen a lot of games here, we have played a lot of games here. So everyone understands what one needs to do to get the result in our favor. Everyone is looking forward and are quite excited as well at the same time," Rohit stated.

The Indian team has had a strong showing in the league stage, defeating Ireland, Pakistan, and the USA. Their final group clash against Canada was called off due to a wet outfield in flood-hit Florida, but the team remains optimistic and focused on the upcoming challenges in the Super 8 stage.
