Xtra Time Web Desk: New Zealand cricket captain Kane Williamson expressed uncertainty about his future in T20 Internationals after the BlackCaps unexpected early exit from the T20 World Cup. Speaking to the media, Williamson emphasized that the team would need some time to regroup following their disappointing performance.

When asked about his participation in the 2026 T20 World Cup, Williamson remained non-committal, stating, "Oh, I don't know." This uncertainty comes after a storied career where Williamson has been instrumental in leading New Zealand to three finals: the 2015 and 2019 ODI World Cups, the 2021 T20 World Cup, and the inaugural World Test Championship final, which they won.

Pace spearhead Trent Boult has already confirmed that this T20 World Cup would be his last. Reflecting on the team's future, Williamson said, "There's a bit of time between now and then, so it's regrouping as a side. And yeah, we've sort of got red ball cricket over the next year basically. So yeah, it's back into some international other formats and yeah, see where things land."

Discussing New Zealand's brief campaign, the 34-year-old skipper acknowledged the challenges, "I think no matter what happens, you always want to do more. But it's been a unique experience for all the guys. The conditions have been challenging, especially for batters, but it's just about trying to find a way."

New Zealand was the last team to start their World Cup campaign and their exit marked a rare setback in what has otherwise been a consistent performance in major tournaments under Williamson's leadership. The team and its captain
