India’s men’s and women’s squad for 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 announced 

Xtra Time Web Desk: The Men’s Selection Committee has picked India’s squad for the upcoming 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 to be held from 19th September to 8th October 2023 at Zhejiang University of Technology Pingfeng Cricket Field. The men’s cricket competition will take place from 28th September to 8th October in a T20 format. 

Ruturaj Gaikwad has been named as the captain. The squad includes Yashasvi Jaiswal who scored a hundred on test debut during the first test against West Indies at the Windsor Park in Dominica. Rinku Singh, who missed the T20I squad for the West Indies series has been included in the Asian Games squad along with Vidarbha wicket-keeper batter Jitesh Sharma.

The squad has three specialist spinners in Washington Sundar, Shahbaz Ahmed and Ravi Bishnoi. Avesh Khan, Arshdeep Singh, Mukesh Kumar, Shivam Mavi and Shivam Dube form the pace department.

Yash Thakur, Sai Kishore, Venkatesh Iyer, Deepak Hooda, Sai Sudarsan are in the standby list of players.

The women’s team was also picked along with the men’s squad. The women’s cricket competition will take place from 19th-28th September 2023 in a T20 format.
