Indian team to have a short camp ahead of test series against Australia, confirms Rahul Dravid

Xtra Time Web Desk: The Indian test team led by Rohit Sharma will have a one-week camp ahead of taking Australia in the four match test series as confirmed by Head Coach Rahul Dravid. The camp will start from February 02 ahead of the first test at Nagpur starting from February 9. Players in the test squad and currently involved in the ongoing ODI series against New Zealand will be rested for the three T20I games. Senior players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will join the camp ahead of the test series.

The camp is likely to be held in Nagpur or Bengaluru. In a bid to get back to rhythm, Team India all rounder Ravindra Jadeja is captaining Sourashtra in the Ranji Trophy game against Tamil Nadu starting from January 24 in Chennai. Cheteshwar Pujara and Jaydev Unadkat has been rested for the game.

Meanwhile, the visiting Australia side will be arriving in India in the first week of February. The Australian test side led by Pat Cummins will also undergo a short camp after arriving in India.

The four test match series is very important for Rohit Sharma and his boys as they have to win by at least a 3-0 margin so as to guarantee a place in the final of World Test Championship against Australia in June at the Oval in June.
