Internet Desk: Prior to the Olympic venture Indian Women’s Hockey team got a good swing of win. Yesterday they won their third consecutive match during their USA tour.
Yesterday Indian Women further beat Canada who are below to them in the World Ranking. India beat them by 3-1. In the previous match India beat Canada by 5-2. Ahead of that match they beat the World No.5 USA in one match too.
In this match Poonam Rani showed her excellence. She made the team advance in the 19th minute. However, Canada equalized their side in the first quarter. In the third and fourth quarters India scored another two which gave them the win.
Throughout this tour several players are encouraging the spirit of the supporters. Rani Rampal, Poonam Rani and Vandana Katariya could have a major influence in the later matches. The key thing for India is that they can dominate matches in chunks, and when they do that they tend to play free-flowing hockey and score lots of goals.
India will start their Rio Olympic journey on 6th July against Japan, the World No.10. This time they beat World No.5. Now the confidence level rose to such height that they are hopeful to win their first Olympic match.
