Internet Desk: Former ICC and BCCI President and Veteran cricket administrator Sharad Pawar declared his acceptance to the verdict of Supreme Court on the Lodha Committee recommendation.

A huge number of cricket administrators of BCCI and several state cricket boards were expected to step down after the verdict of Supreme Court. This is the first time any administrator announced of his retirement following the verdict.

However, the President of MCA will quit his position in six months’ time after the state body accepted the Supreme Court verdict on sweeping reforms in the BCCI and its affiliates in toto.

“I respect the judiciary and will be happy and contended to retire from cricket administration. As you know during my time in the BCCI (as its president) and MCA, several things have been accomplished in support of cricket,” Pawar said.

In a press conference today MCA President declared that the controversy of one-state-one-vote is also being accepted by MCA. However, they will leave the matter on BCCI as there are three cricketing bodies in Maharastra.

“We accept the one state, one vote decision. But we are three associations belonging to Maharashtra state – Mumbai CA, Maharashtra CA and Vidarbha CA. As per the judgement we have to take turns to be represented in the BCCI. We need clarification on this point from the BCCI “, the NCP supremo said.

Sharad Pawar comes under two restrictions bestowed upon by the Lodha Committee. He is above 70years. Also he has completed his tenure of nine years as an office-bearer. It was obvious that he had to retire or resign to implement the Supreme Court verdict. However, he added, “I will be retiring as a happy person”.
