India will not travel to Pakistan for Asia Cup 2023, confirms BCCI Secretary Jay Shah

Xtra Time Web Desk: Indian cricket team will not travel to Pakistan next year for Asia Cup, confirmed BCCI Secretary Jay Shah after the BCCI SGM held in Mumbai. Jay Shah, who is also the President of Asian Cricket Council confirmed that the Asia Cup 2023 will likely be held at a neutral venue. This comes as a result of cricket relations being strained due to political tensions between the two countries.

The Asia Cup 2923 was supposed to be held in Pakistan, and there were some reports that the Men in Blue were ready to travel to Pakistan. But that speculations have been put to rest.

India and Pakistan have not participated in a bilateral series since 2013. In fact, the last time that India travelled to Pakistan was for a bilateral series way back in 2006 for three Test Matches and five ODIs.

Meanwhile, India will take on arch rivals Pakistan in their opening game of the T20 World Cup 2022 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on October 23.
