Xtra Time Web Desk: BCCI president Sourav Ganguly was at the Lord’s cricket ground on Thursday to watch the first day’s play of the ongoing second test match against England. He was accompanied by BCCI Honorary Secretary Jay Shah and senior vice president Rajeev Shukla. It was a reunion of sorts for the former India captain as he was seen chatting with Sir Geoffrey Boycott at the members stand.

Ganguly shared a special connection with Lord’s. The left hander made his memorable test debut at the Home of Cricket in 1996. He captained India to the famous Natwest Trophy final in 2002. The image of Ganguly taking his shirt off at the famous Lord’s balcony remains to be an iconic moment of Indian cricket. On Thursday Sourav visited the iconic venue as BCCI President. Making the occasion memorable, Ganguly posted a collage of four pictures on his official Instagram account, highlighting the different capacity he visited Lord’s.

“Came here as player first in 1996… and then as captain… enjoyed the game at Lord’s today as an administrator… India was and is in a good position all the times… this game of cricket is majestic,” Ganguly captioned his Instagram post.

The official Instagram account of Lord’s Cricket ground  replied to Ganguly’s post, which read: “Great to have you back at Lord’s, Sourav.”

Ganguly was also accompanied by his wife Dona .
