Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India test captain Virat Kohli is likely to miss the One Day International series against South Africa. According to reports, Kohli is going to skip the ODI Series as part of the break he took from BCCI in advance. This would also mean that the two captains – test captain Virat Kohli and newly appointed white ball skipper Rohit Sharma won’t play together in South Africa. Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of the test series owing to a hamstring injury.

Although the 33-year-old Virat Kohli took a break from International Cricket with prior notice to BCCI citing his daughter Vamika’s birthday as the reason behind it, but with the theories and issues about Team India captaincy making rounds around Indian cricket, this could well be a topic of discussion for the next few days. As Rohit Sharma is expected to come back and lead the team for the ODI series, it would mean that the two captains won’t play together as of now.

And now, with the Team India captaincy split between Rohit and Kohli, it would be interesting to see how the head coach Rahul Dravid manages the two superstars of Indian cricket to play together going forward. It would also be intriguing to see how Indian cricket moves forward in Dravid’s tenure.
