India vs Australia: Natarajan makes debut as India make four changes for 3rd ODI

T Natarajan made his debut for India in the 3rd ODI against Australia at Manuka Oval.

Xtra Time Web Desk: As expected India made a few changes (four) for the inconsequential third and final ODI against Australia at Manuka Oval on Wednesday. T Natarajan was handed over the India cap by captain Virat Kohli. He replaced Mohammad Shami while Kuldeep Yadav, Shardul Thakur and Shubman Gill replaces Yuzuvendra Chahal, Navdeep Saini and Mayank Agarwal in the playing XI. Hosts Australia too made three changes with experienced Mitch Starc being rested along with injured David Warner and Pat Cummins. Promising all rounder Cameron Green makes his debut along with left arm spinner Ashton Agar and Sean Abott.

Left-arm spinner Ashton Agar and Sean Abbott have come in for left-arm quick Starc, who has a rib and back niggle following Sunday’s series-sealing win at the Sydney Cricket Ground, and Pat Cummins, who the Aussies have rested. Green, who at 21 becomes ODI player No.230 for Australia, takes the place of injured opener David Warner.

With Warner sidelined for at least the rest of the white-ball matches and possibly the first Test, Marnus Labuschagne will open the batting alongside captain Aaron Finch.

Australia have never lost a 50-over contest in the nation’s capital, winning all four matches by considerable margins, and posted a whopping 5-378 in their last appearance here against New Zealand in 2016.
