Xtra Time Web Desk : India’s much anticipated tour to South Africa is still on according to the BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal, despite growing concerns over the newly found COVID variant called ‘Omicron’ in the northern parts of South Africa.

Team India are scheduled to play the 2nd and final Test match in Mumbai before flying to Johannesburg on the 9th of December. And on Tuesday, Dhumal was seen quite confident about the tight and secure bio bubble that Cricket South Africa are supposed to provide.

Speaking on the above issue with PTI, the BCCI treasurer said, “We stand with them, the only thing is we won’t compromise on players’ safety. As of now we have a chartered flight going to Johannesburg as scheduled and players will be in a bio bubble.”

“Whatever best we can do to not compromise the series we will try and do but if the situation aggravates and if it compromises our players’safety and health, we will see. In the end whatever is the Government of India advisory, we will abide by that,” he added.

It would be interesting to see how the much coveted tour still goes on despite the current COVID chaos.
