Xtra Time Web Desk: The members of Indian test squad on Thursday reached United Kingdom for the upcoming test match against England starting from July 01. The first batch of the Indian team left Mumbai on Thursday morning without captain Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul. Rohit has taken a extra few days before he flies off to UK with the second batch while KL Rahul is yet to recover from his injury. Rahul is likely to undergo a fitness test at the National Cricket Academy but it looks very unlikely he will travel to England.
The players that departed for England on Thursday include Virat Kohli, opener Shubman Gill, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd Siraj, and Cheteshwar Pujara. The BCCI shared the pics of the players on their social media handle twitter
BCCI selection committee had a few days back named India’s 17-member Test squad for the fifth rescheduled Test against England to be played at Edgbaston, Birmin.gham from July 1-5.
India currently leads the Test series 2-1.
