FIFA World Cup 2026: USA, Mexico, Canada to host 48 team event across 16 cities

Xtra Time Web Desk: The next edition of FIFA World Cup 2026 will be held in USA, Canada and Mexico. For the first time in the history of FIFA World Cup there will be 48 teams participating. The governing body of world football on Thursday announced the 16 North American cities that will host matches for the FIFA World Cup 2026 matches. There will be 11 host cities in USA and three host sites in Mexico and two in Canada, the game’s world governing body, announced FIFA.

The 16 host cities will be Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Guadalajara, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Miami, Monterrey, New York/New Jersey, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto and Vancouver.


“We congratulate the 16 FIFA World Cup Host Cities on their outstanding commitment and passion,” FIFA President Gianni Infantino was quoted as saying in the press release.

It will be the second time the US will host the World Cup after 1994. Mexico will host the event for a record third time, having hosted the FIFA World Cups in 1970 and 1986. Canada will have the honor of hosting the mega event for the first time.
