India tour to Australia: Kohli and his team likely to start tour with T20 series from November 27: Reports

XtraTime Web Desk: Virat Kohli and his team are likely to start the tour of Australia with the three match T20I series. It is learnt the first T20 match of the series will be played on November 27 with Gabba being the likely venue.

According to a report in InsideSport, the tour will start with the T20 series followed by the ODI series and the four match test series. The first test match of the tour is likely to be played at the Adelaide Oval from December 17. It will be a Day Night test. The three match ODI series will start likely from December 04.

These are just tentative dates as Cricket Australia is yet to release the itinerary for the much anticipated series. The Australian Cricket Board is awaiting a final approval from the Queensland government over bio-security issues because India is set to quarantine in the northern state. It was previously reported that the Indian team will quarantine at Adelaide.

The national selection committee headed by Sunil Joshi will pick a probable squad comprising of 25-26 members by next week. The non IPL players like Cheteshwar Pujara and Hanuma Vihari along with the support staffs has already been asked to report to Dubai by the end of this month. The idea is to ensure that the quarantine period for the Indian team is not that long in Australia.

It is being reported that Indian team will leave for Australia in two batches, with first batch scheduled to leave from Dubai on November 4. Those whose teams qualify for the IPL 2020 playoffs will leave for Australia on November 12th-13th.
