Xtra Time Web Desk: It looks like the roadblocks are clear for ace batsman Rohit Sharma to travel to Australia with the rest of the Indian squad for the tour to Australia on November 11. It is learnt the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will be sending the Mumbai batsman in the same chartered flight along with the rest of the touring party. The decision to send Rohit has been taken so as to monitor his progress with the Indian team physio Nitin Patel and trainer Nick Webb.

If required, India could rest Rohit for the ODIs, starting November 27, and he can come back during the T20 series.

By the time the Test matches start, he could be fully fit for the rigours of five-day cricket. The Mumbai Indians captain has been nursing a hamstring strain but declared that it is “absolutely fine” recently.

Rohit surprised everyone by taking the field against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final league game of ongoing IPL 2020. Although he was not able to make any impact, his return had added batting firepower to Mumbai-side.

It is also learnt if Rohit does make a comeback into the Indian squad then he will be re-appointed the vice-captain of the white ball side. BCCI had made KL Rahul as India’s T20 and ODI vice-captain in absence of Rohit. However, it is most likely that the Mumbai Indians captain will get resume his duty once he gets included in the team.

Rohit Sharma will lead the Mumbai Indians squad for the final of IPL 2020 on Tuesday against the winner of Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals match on Sunday.
