India Tour of West Indies 2022: Shikhar Dhawan & co reach Port of Spain for limited overs series

Xtra Time Web Desk: The Indian ODI team has reached Port of Spain on Tuesday from Manchester to play the white ball series against West Indies. The players reached Caribbean in a charter flight to avoid any Covid-19 cases. The Men in Blue is slated to play three ODIs and five T20Is.

The 16-member ODI squad has been joined by Sanju Samson, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shubman Gill. The three were not part of the recently concluded ODI series against England. The squad will be led by Shikhar Dhawan as regular captain Rohit Sharma has been given a short break. The hero of the third ODI against England, Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah have also been rested while Bhuvneshwar Kumar continues to be a miss in the ODI squad. Ravindra Jadeja has been appointed as vice-captain for the ODI side.

For the T20 series, Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, R Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Dinesh Karthik, Avesh Khan and Harshal Patel will rejoin the squad. The players in the T20 squad have been granted a short vacation and will join the squad soon.

Rohit Sharma with his family will travel to Caribbean for a short vacation and will join the squad before the T20 series, starting July 29.
